WE ALL HAVE A BEGINNING
The Beginning. It all depends on how you look at it. This all started during the Biggest Farmers Protest, the way farmers were treated, beaten, water cannoned and abused by the Indian State was inhuman and againt the principles of Human Rights, but the worst was the silence of the world who watched as mute spectator. See our cultural brothers and sisters treated that way broke our heart and it forced us to think of ways we can pass on our message to the world, get their attention, it was born out of cry for help. And then officially in the 2021. In Sydney, Australia. One of the most multi cultural cities in the world.
The Influence. Punjab, Punjabi Culture, Traditions, Farmers, Revolt, Mass media. Graphic design. Advertising. Anti Advertising. Grunge. Rebellion. Religion. Feminism. Love.
The Idea. Mainstream fashion apparel did not speak to the unique and ever growing Punjabi community in the Western world. There was an obvious gap for expressing our unique and vibrant culture in the urban fashion landscape. Colours of Punjab was created to represent the Punjabi audience in a funky and fun way.
The Drama. In the first week of launch we received hate messages, our social media pages were bring attacked by complaints and from time to time will get blocked. Our Message was getting out we wont be silent, we will stand by our farmers and we will speak out.
When you wear our t.shirts, you're wearing a piece of history. A journey. You're representing something that was created just for you. To express who you are and our amazing Punjabi culture. You've endured on the journey with us. And that is how you become part of the #coloursofpunjabfamily. And much like family, we encourage you to keep in touch with us. Tell us your thoughts about our t.shirts. What you like. What you don't. What are we doing right. What are we doing wrong. Even if you just want to say hello and send us a picture of you rocking our gear. We're all about sharing and talking.
If you've been part of the #brownmanclothingfamily, thank you. We appreciate it. If you're not part just yet, we hope that you will be soon.
